Online bingo operators that are based outside the UK will need from now on a new license to operate in Britain. This requirement will not only be affecting online bingo companies, but also all gambling operators. British Sports Minister, Gerry Sutcliffe, announced that even though a consultation period will be given to the companies to meet the new requirements, no online gambling company, including bingo operators, will be allow having UK customers if they don’t get the licence and respect the UK Gambling Commission regulations. The main objective of this measure is to obtain a greater collaboration between operators, as that is the best way to fight against gambling addiction as well as protecting children. Under this new legislation, bingo companies and other gambling operators will also have to contribute to different gaming researches. |
